AACGain normalizes the volume of digital music files using the Replay Gain algorithm. It works by modifying the global_gain fields in the mp4 samples. Free-form metadata tags are added to the file to save undo information, making the normalization process reversable. AACGain supports mp4/m4a files. Raw AAC files/HE-AAC/SBR are not supported. TSSniper is a transport stream(ts,m2ts) editor. This software is not yet completely finished but cutting of transport streams containing H-264 or MPEG2 video should work without problems. The following audio/video formats are supported: Transport streams(.ts, .mts, .m2ts, AVCHD) with one video track containing either H.264 or MPEG2 video (with or without PAT/PMT) together with the following audio track formats: MPEG1, MPEG2, AC-3, AAC, AAC-HE. With all these great AVCHD authoring tools popping up, AVCHD on a FAT32 hard drive has quickly become my authoring method of choice for playback on the PS3. GOPchop is an open source tool for losslessly cutting and merging hardware-encoded MPEG2 video files. It limits cuts to I-frames or group-of-picture (GOP) boundaries, thereby preventing artifacts and degradation of quality by not needing to re-encode. GOP boundaries occur frequently enough (especially at scene boundaries), that GOPchop's method is quite suitable for many applications.
