I've been buying a number of this boxes (of 10, 25 and now 100) for over a year now. Haven't had yet what others report as media failure a few months after being burnt.
Still, those from one of the spindles (of 25) can only be used to a maximum of about 1,5-1,8GB. More than that and they'll give an error while recording and fail to be read on all devices I've tried.

Rubbish media. Most discs burn fine but after about 6 months some of them will not be read back buy the same burner that burnt them. Skip on playback and freeze. These have been kept in a dvd case in a dvd cabinet in a house with a/c. I am now in the process of changing them all over to better discs such as verbatim. About 20% of these princos don't work any more.

(I've just finished my 12th cakebox.) Last 2 boxes had 2 misburns. I've gotten only 1 bad box. They burn great at 4x.
Problem is, my 1 year old DVD's are about 3/5th, 6 month old DVD's are 1/5th, unreadable by PC's, Video on stand alones stutter or stop. Stored in a cabinet in a climate controlled home using padded sleeves.
I DO NOT recommend storing "wedding" type important things on them.

It's the most poorest media what i see. Write only 2x, write error at cca. 66% of disc. All data broken. It's a very bad idea to buy Princo DVD I think.

I have burned more than 100 Princo dvds without problem but the last 25 have a problem of compatibility with the players (denon, Hometech, PS2).
The image stop or are freezing at the end of the dvd.

have used stacks of Princo 50 spindle wih no problem at all. i use dvd shrink to shrink the dvd and nero to burn the movie and dvd decrypter to burn ps2 games. tip when burning ps2 games with dvd decrypter write at 1x so game doent load for ages.
Faulty at sometimes about 3/50 spindle fautly but rating 9/10.

Nero 6.3.1.10 The problem is with the SONY DW-U54A drive which failed 7 out of 9 burns at 2x speed (it's supposed to be a 4x burner). I've had very good results with PRINCO media on various other burners (Pioneer etc). Reliability improves a bit by dropping to 1x speed. Problem was same as in SONY DRU-510A drive firmware 1.0d but fixed in 1.0f. DO NOT BUY THE DW-U54A drive at this time - it is crap and SONY support is woeful. Might be fixed at a later time with firmware upgrades. CD burning seemed ok - failed too Many DVDs. Similar problems with Shintaro 4x media.

Read up about these thought they were OK, saw them at a reasonable price bought a 10 pk, went home tried to burn first disc using Nero, died at 1%, next one same and again. Used Ritek before this with no problems, even Laser brand is better at least they burnt OK, didn't play in the stand alone player but Princo didn't even get to that stage!

The Princo 4x disks are resonable for what you pay these days..But again you get what you pay for, I find these ok I do have some problems when I play a home vidos on the LG7711P and the panasonic player can not remember the model..
What happens with the princo disks is that the movie tends to lock up / stop playing and very often it will skip in the player...my solution is that I use princo for data backups and for video I will use RITEK 4x

Panasonic DMR-E100H will not high-speed dub to these discs at 4x, 2x, or 1x...reverted to LP mode (1:1 recording-to-burn time) 5/5 discs recorded at real-time burn, 0/5 would finalize on the DMR-E100H. Attempts to finalize result in "Finalize fails," "UNSUPPORTED" in the player display, and occasionally followed by system check as if power had failed. Discs would not record at all on a DMR-E50. Non-finalized discs played back on DMR-E50 & E100H, but not on LA-95 portable.

These disks are identical in looks and performance to the 4x Shintaro except for 1 thing, they load much faster in a standalone player. I've noticed many bad reviews of these disks on this forum. Try using Nero 6 and drop your write speed to 2x. This greatly improves media compatibility over standalone players and consoles. I have not come across a player yet that won't accept these disks. Remember, 4x for Movies is no good, the slower you burn, the more stable the disk will be.

Trashed first 8 disks as the last 15mins of movie always corrupted. Tried using Instant Copy, DVD Shrink, Clone DVD and NERO - all with the same result. Eventually worked by using DVD Shrink and customizing the maximum size to 4.2GB not the normal 4.7GB.

I burnt 15-20 Princo 4X discs with a NEC ND-2500A, not a single coaster yet, however I have only burnt media as yet, I will try burning a movie later on.
Also, the ND-2500A will only let me burn at 4X, I think the drive scans the disc to determine the maxiumum safe speed the disc can achieve, explaining why some 4X media can support 8X burn, since some discs may have a higher grade manufactering process.

Made many coasters using Nero 5.5, then Nero 6 on 4x. was also using a Lite-On 411s DVD burner. That being said, however, there are work arounds. Burning at lower speeds (eg: 2x) ensures better quality and stability. Have created copies of DVDs (using DVD shrink) put home movies on DVD (using Ulead Movie Factory) and always used Nero 6 to burn VIDEO_TS files. These discs take a while to load up on a set-top DVD player, though - around forty seconds to a minute. Once running, however, work as normal. I use an AKAI ADV-8000 multizoned DVD player.

These discs are eminently suitable for the purpose of data backups.
As far as backing up movies goes i support the comments previously voiced regarding lagging and stuttering on playback in set top boxes. These dvd's are not recommended for purpose of movie backups.
save yoour money and buy decent Taiyo Yuden's or the really good princo's which are rebranded and sold by Shintaro. ( -R)
Better still use + R media better writing methods ensure a better output on the disks.

After updateing the Firmware from www.lge.com just add yr burner model number to that and you will find it!! Nero defaluts to 2x until you update this feature. These discs record well at 2x and 4x have never had a coaster yet. Spindle of 10 for $19

The genuine A grade blanks work fine, to date that's all I've seen & no errors. Steer clear of B grade, claimed 5% errors & cracks, but anecdotal reports suggest much higher incident rates. N.B. LITE-ON LDW411S only writes this media reliably with revision FS0F, and even then compatibility with players is an issue, esp. at the ultra-cheap end (e.g. C-Tech). No issues to date with Pioneer drives (105, 106). Does NOT work with Sony.

i've got princo's bought two years ago , tried too burn dvd with them two years later but it wasn't succesfull , when i played the film on a dvdplayer it stopped at a quarter of the film with showing up blocks, i didnt know what was wrong , so i started too look for people on the internet with same problems , so i figured out that it was the glue between the two layers that started to give a chemical reaction with the metal (this started when the cd-r where a year old )i had put a spotlight on the cd and saw the putholes in the cd of the corrosion , i first thought i was doing something wrong , but it wasn't(bought verbatim's)and all problems where over , this problem with the glue will start in a year , then youre movies are all destroyed by that corrosion and wont work , so better spend a little bit more for your dvd-r's and go a sure that they will still work next year , now i got verbatim's lets say that they have proven too be good by a longtime , they are a bit more expensive but that has to have a reason i guess , i hope i've informed you enough about this lousy thai product

Got a bad batch of Princo 4x 100pack this time. Purchased Princo 4x White top 100pack (4XH592400984). Received 100 pieces of cracked disc's in the inner ring. Doesn't burn making coasters, obviosuly because it won't spin straight.
BEWARE OF ALLMEDIAOUTLET. Sent me media and won't replace it with same or better quality media. Sent me cheaper media that costs less than my Princo White Tops (sent Beyond 4x Silver Top media). Had to refuse shipment and contact CreditCard Co. to handle this dispute. VERY horrible customer service. Last time I ever buy from them again. Previous Princo 1x 100pk and Princo 4x 200pk were fine, but I should have learned from my last purchase from allmediaoutlet.com because of opened dvd package which had a missing discs.
Other wise I love buying Princo because of cheap price, good quality, and works on all my DVD players. Even my old 8yr old Panasonic DVD player that isn't suppose to!

I had 40pcs, 4 of them had stopped during writing with media error. Most of them (about 90%) by playback on my standalone player (Panasonic RV-32) had problems on the first part of the disk (freeze), but the same media could be played back on my PC without errors.

Although I usually buy the Ritek, I bought a 50 spindle of the Princos to save a little money. So far so good. I've burnt about 10 movies and not one coaster. But I've heard from some that durability is an issue with Princos and that I shouldn't expect these backups to last that long. But I have no complaints initially.

There is a id code printed on the disc, i have seen 5 diffrent types of thes codes and they begin whit 4XB1,4XB2,4XH1,4XH4,4XHB
the ones that begins whit 4XH have NEVER been whitout errors (playback problems)but those that begins whit 4XB are allmost whitout any errors.
I had bought 100 of these dvd disc. so 40 was good and 60 was not!

Media seemed to work well then after the flash to 1.07 it would only burn at 2X using NERO; XPRESS would burn it in 2 minutes(NOT!).Of course I have to blame it on the flash but it only affected the PRINCO as the MEMOREX 4X still goes at 4X.
Allmediaoutlet.com had a good price for them and it just got a whole lot better! 44.50/50!

Update from since Sept 02, purchased another 2 (50) spindles, with 21 coasters (most around or the same sector, reported by Toast verif) from 70 discs. This batch was terrible, (Sorry, unless there's a DVDInfo for OS X, I can't get the media code.)
Close inspection of media shows there are tiny scratches/irregularities/discoloration in the media, mostly on the outer rim.
Verification takes 50% longer on misburns. Tried with 2x with better results. Some discs freaked out on older PS2 models. Numerous pixelated scenes, even with successful verification, rewind and repeated, still pixelated.

I have now burned approx. 60 Disks without a single coaster. I have given some to a friend of mine and he reported positive results also.
Using Nero 5.5.xxxx and I am burning them at actual x4 -> 15 min on average. I have the a05 as master and no slave attached to the same bus. My harddrives are configured on a seperate onboard RAID controller on a ABIT Max2 MB with Athlon 1700+ and 768MB Ram. Many post issues with speed problems or compatibility which might be related to PC configuration/limits.

Can be written at 4x with my Teac DV-W50E (Pioneer 105 clone), but that's kind of useless if you cannot read them. Tested with Nero CD-Speed on Teac DV-W50E writer and Toshiba SD-M1401 DVD-ROM: First half of the disc is OK, but the second half has tons of erros and is completely unreadable ("unrecoverable read error"). Same results with a Cyberhome CH-DVD402 standalone: skips and gets stuck at about half of the disc. Reducing write speed to 2x does not help at all. Don't spend your money for this crap.

Burned great at 2x. At 4x, it starts burning at 4x at ends at 2x. I was never able to burn fully at 4x.
When playing on my RP56, it rarely has any default when DVD was burned at 2x. But at 4x, the first 15 minutes is VERY bad. No problem at any speed with my Sony NS600.
The reason I keep buying this 4x DVD-R but burn it at 2x only is that it's cheaper than the rytek 1x, and the quality when playing on my RP56 is better.

This media does NOT burn at 4x as advertised. Both Nero 6 and DVDDecrypter write in test/simulation mode at 4x, but when it comes to actual burning, they only write at 2x. Nero still shows the burning speed as 4x, but it takes 30 mins so it falls under the 2x category. (4x only takes 15-16 minutes)
My recommendation would be to go with E3 Works 4x DVD-Rs (sold in 25-packs at Future Shop in Canada... may be sold in Circuit City or Best Buy stateside) These worked fine with my DW-U10A.
My Sony DVP-NS325 plays these discs, but it stutters for the first 30 secs - 1 min. A workaround this is to pause and/or play in slow motion for a couple of seconds.

I bought 10 pieces of this media in a cakebox. Only 3 discs were usable on my DVD-Player. The other 7 discs showed errors and where not playable towards the end of the disc. They were also not playable in my Sony DDU-1612 DVD drive.
It is interesting that most of the discs, I had problems with, could be easily read back in my Pioneer DVR-105 recorder.
So finally I can not recommend to buy this media at all. It is a waste of time and money.

Princo DVD-R 4X media from AllMediaOutlet.com, $1.09 in 100 spindles. Was getting about 20-25% success at 4X, usually falls back to 2X with Nero. Hard errors on about 2% tested. Much higher 4X success by inserting disc immediately prior to burning after allowing the drive to cool down a few minutes(don't ask me why)--burned 10 in a row at 4X this way. Beware of RecordNow (bundled with Sony), on a hard error tends to sit and burn (at 4X) indefinitely, never falls back to 2X, so probably risky for laser.

Media burns at true 4x on Pioneer A05/105. Burned 4.34 GB of data in 15 min 52 seconds, including lead-in and lead-out timed with a stopwatch. No problems at all, no skips on playback. Note that burning at 4x requires a fast computer (and no multitasking) or you get errors on disc/system crashes. If this media does not work for you, your problem is not the media - maybe hardware or applications running in the background.

Advertised as Leda 1x brand by Shop4Tech.com earlier this year. Terrible media dye, others have verified this in threads on afterdawn. Started off okay then movie backups would freeze all the time, some discs could not be written to at all. Returned for a refund.
NOTE! I have ordered 3 times from YesBuy.net, and thankfully have NEVER gotten Princo media. My first 2 orders were TDK. Don't rely on their information, get a program (DVDInfo) that will tell you the exact media code! I have had only 2 coasters out of 100 with YesBuy.net 2x media.

I burned (using the Apple SuperDrive in the PowerBook G4) a single DVD out of the 5 pack I bought. I played it back and it was fine on my PowerBook G4 (using the same drive to burn as to play back. Played with DVD Player). Tried to play on my Toshiba SD-2109, but got a disc error. A few days later, I put it back into my PowerBook G4 to play, using DVD Player.
Now I get flakey results. Some scene selections don't work. When I try to jump to the scene it hangs, and while on full play back, once in a while, it just 'pauses' for no reason. Tried this 3-4 times, am now about to turn this one into a coaster.

I was able to burn 4X with my dru500A, also with my pioneer dvr-105/dvr-A05. Although some people report bad issue with this media, But so far no problem for me. May be i was just lucky, but i certainly enjoy the speed of 4x burning

I got lucky the first time I used it burning directly at 4xspeed, but the 2nd & 3rd times not when copying the same DVD master. Burning successful but copied dvd freezes when played on the pc and would not play on stand-alone player. Tried disc image copy at 4xspeed ... GREAT result. From now on will always use disc image to copy.

Better for data discs. DVD movies work OK for first 3-4 viewings, then frames freeze and glitches become noticeable. Outer edges of disc tend to have errors... best if not burned completely full.

Recently bought a PC p-4 2.4 with dvd rewriter.
I bought several dvd-r's and hoping all will work, but very disappointed when my first successful dvd-rw 1xspeed copy did not play on my stand-alone dvd player. It played on the pc and later found out that the copy has an error because it freezes at a certain part during playback. Tried again with another brand of dvd-r 1xspeed (successfully copied) with the same story. I was really disappointed and planned to buy an external dvd rewriter of Sony.
Just like I said, I have several dvd-r's and tried again using the one with 4xspeed, copying it on-the-fly 4xspeed & once again successfully copied. I was really surprized & felt very happy when it played on my Pioneer stand alone dvd player model xv-dv55. One thing I noticed between the good & bad copies: the bad copies have 2 titles & did not play on the stand-alone player while the good copy has 3 titles.
