One of the best tools you could use .

For those who are having problems related to strange colours , you do need to play with the colours and be more carefull of the actual font you use , its the font's that can cause alot of headaches .

I personally load video files into virtualdub , and use the start frame and end frame of a chosen area as my subtitles timing .

The trick is , some places arent played long enough to bother with having a subtitle in place , so you need to be mindfull of this .

It works well compared to doing it any other way , and the subtitle is easily brought into ifoedit for muxing .

so far , no problems , but can be hard to find this tool on the web , I managed to track it down finally to an optusnet user site in australia .

So if it can not be located , you might as well buzz me for it , pm me that is ...

Big downfall is not having support for Unicode. Only ANSI/ASCII text is supported for SRT files. Hopefully authors will work on this and enable us "non-latin" people have a use of this tool.

The transparent feature does work, you just have to be careful what colours you select. You must not select the same colour for a transparent and a non-tramsparent elements.

The safest thing is to select a different colour for each element [Text][Background][Outline] & [AntiAlias].

There is not another program like this that is FREE!

Quote:The new added feature to have a trasparent background does not work!

This program does work great, i had same problem at first time, but is a bug in it, to get a transparent background, just select a different color from any other of use. This is how it works for me, Backgnd = Navy(trans), Outline = Black, Text= White, Antialias = Black. Also i set the ouline to 4 and use font Thaoma regular #18. After this i save the ifo colors and all works like a champ.

Would be a great tool if it worked the way it's supposed to. The new added feature to have a trasparent background does not work! There's nothing like working hours on a project only to end up with a "blocky" background behind your subs taking up 1/4 of the picture.

Fix this and add a user guide and it might be a winner.
