Keep in mind that this tiny App just control the command line tool ffmpeg. Nevertheless, the range of functions is huge and there is even a preview for video filters and editing. But you have to get used to the GUI.

If you want to get rid of long lists of subtitles and other languages, simply drop the file on the desktop icon, click Main page then Multiplex, remove the left checkmark for things you don't need and click Multiplex. Done!

This excellent tool came to the rescue as regards adding an English SRT to a French audio movie, Initially I used MKV Toolnix however despite selecting English SRT it would process it to French even when deselecting any other subtitles I had no problem with adding Spanish or Italian or French into MKV Toolnix however English was an issue. Thankyou to the developer of Clever FFmpeg.

I have a request from you.
I reassemble my videos to mp4 with ffmpeg for playback on my iPhone.
My videos are h265+eac3+subs (multiple audios and subtitles)
Here is the full command line I use:
.\ffmpeg.exe -i “C:\Users\neptu\Desktop\Video0.mp4” -map 0:v -c:v copy -map 0:a -c:a copy -map 0:s? -c:s mov_text -tag:v hvc1 -disposition 0 -movflags +faststart -brand mp42 “C:\Users\neptu\Desktop\Video1.mp4”
Special codes for my Apple device:
-tag:v hvc1 (Player won't play the video without this)
-disposition 0 (Prevents multiple audio and subtitle tracks from being default. Otherwise audio tracks are played at the same time).
-movflags +faststart (For fast startup and scanning)
I wish you add a bit multiplex option that includes these features. Or an extra check box for mp4 mux.

you refer to source file in 3 places on the page .. there is no need, keep it simple.
Please consider the following:
- Remove the title "select source file" and move the text "use the select .." under the select source button.
- Move the 'Switch Color' button out of the way to the upper right corner.
- Move both 'visit homepage' and 'post a review' links out of the way to the upper right corner.
- Move the 'output folder' display text next to the 'set output folder'.

Version 3.2.8 has a fundamental problem. It doesn't find the ffmpeg directory even though it is sitting there. It asks EVERY time where ffmpeg is and also what temporary directory to use. This is a serious dropoff.

If you, like me, have an old receiver unable to decode Atmos streams from the latest movies, this application can easily reencode the 7.1 channel from the Atmos track and create a 5.1 DTS track that your receiver will recognize and play perfectly. I was about to buy a new receiver because I could not use my 5.1 setup on some movies that only had 7.1 Atmos. So, this very useful software saved the day for me. So, thank you so much for this. It is really appreciated. Try this software. It has multiple uses besides the one mentioned here. Also, what makes this even greater is the rapidity the developer respond to questions and correct things if/when there is problems. Again, thank you!

Thank you for the awesome tool, ProWo. I don't know if you or someone else in the community can assist me. I down mixed some 5.1 movies to stereo, but the dialogue is still not intelligible. The rest of the mix overpowers the dialogue. The bit rate of the movies ranges from 640 kbps to 768 kbps. I don't know if this is the problem. For the down mix option I selected "Robert Collier", I did not add any filters. The encoder I selected was eac3. Is your tool able to improve dialogue intelligibility? If you or the community can assist me on possible options that I can test out that might help me make the dialogue stand out more over the rest of the mix, then I will really appreciate it. Thanks again.

I already gave a positive review of this inconspicuous little software some time ago. Since then it has been refined and improved again and again.
Now with version 3.2.0 it is still small, but stable and does what it is supposed to do, which is an amazing amount.

A much-appreciated solution for when I download a video and end up with separate video and audio files (e.g. a silent H.264 video and separate AAC audio file). Clever FFmpeg GUI muxes them into a new mp4 file simple and fast, with perfect results. Much better than the usual "playback only" (or re-encoding) muxing approaches like VLC. Of course it's FFMPEG doing the work, but nice not to have to use command lines.

I just removed one star because modal popup windows are annoying and should be treated as messages directly shown on the main HUD without breaking the user flow (like, "scan type missing", "finished", "target resolution rather small" popup when clicking up and down on codecs, and so on...)

This GUI has is interesting, as it guides the user through the individual steps necessary in setting up a working commandline for FFmpeg.
Apropos "commandline": The thing that this GUI is missing is a printout of the actual commandline it is sending to FFmpeg. Please add this feature in a future update.

Nice GUI. I wonder if it supports some form of audio normalisation when converting, but I suppose that depends on the ffmeg build? In anycase use mp4a so you can normalize using replaygain in Mp3Gain gui using the aacGain tool's renamed exe.

Hi, i used this program several times and was very happy. Unfortunately, i have discovered that the program has behaved strangely in the last couple of weeks. On windows 10, i run the x64 .exe app but the gui does not show. There is however an icon in the taskbar in the bottom of the screen.
Today 27.4.2022, windows 10 informs me of 2 viruses that it wants to take actions on. I instruct win10 to remove those but i wonder if those viruses are related to clever ffmpeg? Is there any chance that win10 blocks clever ffmpeg because of a virus?

This little gem of software makes it easy for a newbie or an old hand to squeeze out the best of ffmpeg! I use your program to edit and re-encode TV-SAT rips (as TS). If I patch the audio stream first, then reload and change the patched audio file (e.g. fade in and fade out), then reload the original TS file to encode the video stream, I now find the changed audio stream already present when muxing without having to search for it. This is ingenious. Thank you.

I have noticed that video cutting has been improved with the latest beta version (v2.7.5_05_Beta) and now shows the exact start cut point (at the keyframe before the specified cut time). So more precise cuts are now possible. Thanks for this great feature.

This was useful for having an ivtc option(which did a fine job with most sources!) but now it has been mistakenly imho removed with the reason that the user can enter his/her own scripts. Thing is how do you know what is the ideal way to go for your source, if you are not that versed in avisynth as that area is extremely complex and a minefield?
A default option which allowed some editing for the more advanced user to tweak would be much better. Not so clever removal! Maybe others have said. Who knows?

Have a television recording as ts. The ac3 5.1 dolby audio track starts as ac3 stereo and changes to ac3 5.1 dolby after 4 sec. With your wonderful program I was able to patch the audio track. It is now ac3 5.1 dolby from the beginning. Thank you for this unique feature.

The clever FFmpeg GUI 2.6.5 surprised me a lot, especially a function, which would be converting the audio frame, without changing the pitch, changing only the length. It really is one of the most sensational tools, for making audio insertion in videos of different frames, in the most, the program, it only needs a small adjustment in the visual making it more attractive, in the more it is simple, intuitive, and leaves nothing to be desired, it is a simple and efficient program.

Pity doesn't work in XP, but okay for Win7. Can ffmeg ivtc NTSC hybrid sources from the commandline? That's one thing I've yet to work out in ffmeg as it appears only to cater for deinterlace! Yet to see a ffmeg based GUI with an ivtc preset. DvD Converter FU Wizard can do it but does an awful job leaving combing artifacts.

The separate processing of audio and video is perfect; so for many videos I can just change the video track and then simply mix in the original audio track. Great!

Great feature. Could insert a foreign language audio track from a 23.976 FPS film on a 25 FPS film.
I checked the synchronisation with VLC and was able to mux the new soundtrack with the found audio delay. Works perfectly! Thanks.

I often work on TV Rips. After the cut to remove commercials, it happens from time to time that with AC3 5.1 audio tracks the first audio frames still appear from the pre-program in 2 channels. In mediainfo such an audio track is then displayed as a 2 channel stereo audio track although it is a 5.1 track. Here Clever FFmpeg-GUI has a unique feature and patches this audio track to full 5.1. I don't know any other program that can do this. Thank you very much for this great feature.

Good and easy to use program, which is above all clearly arranged. I mainly work on HD-TV recordings (TS Container) and the space reduction for a movie at really good quality is 1:10. Many thanks to the author for this useful program.
