Brilliant! After spending hours futzing around with vlc and mkvtoolnix, I found this mentioned online.
Within 2 minutes had it installed and had chaptered my first video.

This excellent program has a wide range of functions, and the author responds promptly to requests for changes. It's only drawback is that it is quite difficult to work out how to use it and there is very little in the way of documentation, but the new chapterEditor Reddit forum will help with this (www.reddit.com/r/chapterEditor/).

Apesar da dificuldade que muitos poderão encontrar devido a interface do software eu devo reconhecer que esse superou as minhas expectativas. Recomendo o uso do ChapterEditor com o SW MKVToolNix "https://www.videohelp.com/software/MKVToolNix" e outro manipulador de contêiner que dê destaque para MKV e OGG.
