This is an amazing tool to remove commercials from dvb tv recordings. Channel logos can be saved and when opening a recorded file it is scanned for known logos, afterwards cut marks added automatically.

Once learnt there's no reason why saved clips should not be ad frame free.
Always move forward one step from start and one step back from end leaves clips ad free.
From here you can dump the original recording saving space on your htpc or other device.
Personally I find it better than comskip or cutterman and quicker prior to encoding for other devices.

i use smart cutter too , videpub its good if you want see a recorded program without comercials. but if you want keep it for later use maybe not, because between cuts you dont get a clear cut, like you get with smart cutter.

I've been using this software for a little under a year mainly for cutting and disposing of commercials and extras at the beginning and end of recorded tv programs. Although the learning curve was not completely flat, I quickly switched from using smart cutter as my primary commercial cutting tool. Although I find on occasions I still need to use smart cutter, this little gem saves me time and frustration. One this it has is a logo capture feature, that it uses to scan the recording for commercials and does suggested cuts. This is truly a fantastic tool.
