At the beginning it has a steep learning curve with all these functions. Subtitle and Audio importing and exporting work well with mkv. Metadata changes also shown in mediainfo. Nice application

@Disappointed:
First of all this project is alive the last 20 hours (you can check it in github). Mods here were more than fast and kind to upload my app here and I thank them for it.

As for options and Settings, English is not my first language and I should have been more careful.
Though as I said, above the Download Link there's Developer's site and I hoped that people would check the manual before use any app (not mine only). I was obviously wrong and I had to point that out.

the App is all-in-one, so it should complete every execution the user make. That's why it's mandatory to add all paths of all required executables. I don't expect a user to do X and then go to options again to add another location to do Y. Settings.xml save the locations permanently exactly because I don't want the user to bother again with that.

Read-only dir? You add files from the same dir in SarkUI to modify them, to export subs, audio, mux , rename metadata, so you should expect that the current dir is writable.

Do you think is a good practice to test an app with renaming a - as title here says - required executables and expect to work normal?

To sum it up, if you had put all the location paths of the correct apps in Options , you should be ready and not bother again with the setup and truly test the app.

quote: accept my excuses.
No harm done. Thanks for pointing out things and I will change Settings name because is confusing and specify that ALL paths required. Please if you find bugs , add issue in github. We can continue in a new threat here of course. I'll be happy to fix all confusing issues and bugs.

@sarkas:
OK, so there's a few considerations to be added:
- It would make things easier to understand, if you didn't intermix "Settings" and "Options", or clearly said that both mean the same to you, and are used without distinction in your app.
- It would make things easier to handle, if you mentioned that ALL options need to be specified in the Options panel for the app to exercise anything useful (what's the use of the "enable" checkbox in that case, anyway?).
- Your app shouldn't bomb out with "Add dirs in Settings first", if e.g. one wishes to one-click-convert a ts to mkv, and hasn't enabled mp4box in Options panel. mp4box isn't used at all in that scenario, but your code in Main.cs explicitly checks for this setting to be configured and a filename provided. (I didn't want to d/l or install mp4box, so simply renamed mkvmerge.exe to mp4box.exe, which circumvented that programming flaw.)
- One doesn't have to add "dirs" on the options panel (there's no way to do that, anyway), one can only add file specifications (location incl. filename)
- There simply is no option or setting to set an output directory for a one-click conversion in this app. Neither in the github readme. The output file is created in the same folder as the input file, using the same basename as the source. I didn't check what your app would do in case the input location was read-only...
- I didn't take time to imagine or to find out what the intention could be for the parameters "DefaultOutputDir" and "LastUsedOneClickFolder" in settings.xml.

But thanks for pointing me at your project folder on github, and providing the source there. That helped me in understanding the app's behavior.

Perhaps all this should better get discussed in a thread in the forum, rather than posting this as another review...

Finally, please accept my excuses. I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I was just disappointed (hence the alias), because the app didn't work as I had eagerly hoped for, and didn't provide ease of use for my personal needs.

It's probably the best program in it's kind!! Very easy to use and the perfect all-in-one solution, if you often use muxing/extraction programs for video/subs editing. Just remember in the beginning to do a small setup from the "options" tab.

Amazing software. You need to do a small setup at the beggining but after that it works fawsley. It has everything in one place and does almost anything you might need with video files. Thank you so much for this app.

I am the creator of the app. To answer above comment, you can add all the executable paths inside Options tab. Also there is installation steps in github readme showing exactly where to add paths. https://github.com/sarkinios/sarkui

Im forced to add rating in order to answer so don't count my vote of score. Thanks.

No "Settings" option visible/usable to set output dir or filename as requested by program -> This renders the tool completely useless (to me). Sorry, but I wish there was a possibility to choose score "0"...
