This isnt FREEWARE...it is TRIALWARE. I did like it because it gives much easier access to control the DIVX encoder settings compared to QUICKMEDIACONVERTER.

I'm new to the world of HD video and was looking for something that would successfully convert/compress my AVCHD Lite vids into other formats and this works a treat. Had problems with other tools (Eg Super) that can't handle the faux 50fps (actual 25fps with every second framed duped to look like 50fps) frame rate of AVCHD Lite.
Was a quick and easy download and installation and user friendly interface (as long as you've dealt with compressing vids previously). The time to convert seems a fair bit quicker than I expected too seeing as I'm running an old P4 2.4Ghz 1GB RAM.
The only problem is that there isn't the amount of control I'd like over how much compression you want. 4096Kbps is the max bit rate available for MPEG4 format. Good if you just need something quick and easy.
