Very simple and fast. My output is perfect and normalize function works very well.

Barebones AC3 to WAV converter. Works great, no fancy bells or whistles, but that's want I wanted. It does have one extra feature, which is normalization.

Does the trick; used it to convert some Praise Baby DVDs (think Christian baby Einstein)to CD audio.

1. rename the Read.me file to Readme.txt; it will then open with notepad/wordpad.
2. I had to exit and restart after every 2 conversions. That was a small hassle, but no big deal for a free program.
3. Easy to use, but not intuitive at first. Select the AC3 you want to convert, then underneath it put in the filepath and name you want for the new file. Then hit the convert button. (I didn't use the equalizer; I was recording a music DVD.) The new file shows up in whatever directory you placed it.

This took an ac3 file that others wouldn't (such as headac3e, ac3fix, and ac3tool) and converted it with no problem!

I used the program to convert AC3 to WAV, but the program amplified the left channel, causing unbalanced stereo sound.

Ease: This program is very simple and intuitive to use. However, you must be sure to name the output with the WAV extension or rename it later yourself, as PX3 will not do this for you.

Functionality: This is where the program is lacking. Aside from being able to press the DS button to deselect/select Dolby Surround Sound and move the volume boost slider back and forth, there are not many options. PX3 can output to WAV, MP3, and a few other formats. Using it to convert AC3 to WAV, I was disappointed when it amplified the left channel much louder than the right, making the sound file severely unbalanced.

Value: Free.

This program is simple fast and free. It has enough options to make it very usefull. I ripped the 6 channel AC3 stream from the "Messin' With The Blues" DVD with Smartripper, converted to wav. with PX3 AC3 to WAV in about 4 minutes and burned thet file to CD using Nero Express. The whole deal took about an hour and he CD plays great. That's what I needed and exactly what I got, it's a 10. ............. harrymj3
