Very functional editing program. Would be perfect if it would accept 3:2 pulldown video instead of only home recorded video. The creator has made updated versions available on his site but hasn't posted any links to them here.

It can also join mpeg2 files (ensure that the audio has the same format and bitrate).
Even join selections from different files. I also use it with success to sync the audio from TV captures. You can shift the audio max 5 secs fore- and backwards.
It saves cutlists in project files. I love it and use it very often.

Well for a free utility it has alot of features and one of the few that handles large files sizes. I loaded a 9.43 gig file with no problems. Very fast at splitting mpeg2 files without re-encoding like Tmpgemc plus and after trying 4 cuts, found no sync issues.

The English option doesn't entirely put the program in English so I found myself saying" how the f***..." a few times especially when a dialog box came up in German. You may need a .dll from the site and have it in the main folder directory or it will not read the files after it scans it. It could use some more extension options for video and audio. Adding them to the list doesn't work as it only supports m2v, mpv, mp2, mpa, AC3, WAV.

One trick I found: After capturing from VCR in MPEG2 using MMC DVD high quality, I changed the finished file extensions type from mpg to .m2v or it wouldn't open the file.

Overall this is exactly what you need to cut or edit your vids.

had to load in one dll for it to function properly, but then I got a great tool for cutting mpegs without quality loss in an awesome speed.
This is the best cutting tool I have.

Excellent free application that can do simple cutting of MPEG2 video and audio without re-encoding. You can also pick chapter points with the viewer and then use them in a text file when you author (in IFOEdit, for example). The viewer plays back AC3 audio, too. Is not frame accurate (I and P frames only), but for removing commercials, etc. it is perfect.

Scares at first time, unless you understand Deutsch. But once you learn how to use it, it can easily become your mpeg cutter of choice. The "Marks list", for batch cut processing, is a great idea.

A tool with a great potential.
