"Super Resolution will only be enabled for 8-bit video due to driver limitations"

yeah, this is a no-go for me

Surpringly good.*THUMBS UP* It is faster and less resource-intensive than the olde and goode Enhanced Video Renderer.
Just don't use the keyboard shortcuts that adjust brightness, contrast and saturation when the the checkbox "Wait for VBlank before present(ing)" is ticked, otherwise MPC-BE will crash :-D

Review by El Heggunte on Jul 2, 2024 Version: 0.8.3.2255 x64 OS: Windows 8 64-bit Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 9/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

With MPC Video Renderer you can configure the quality in video playback for video players like MPC-BE or MPC-HE.
You will get the best performance and a high quality level with an nvidia graphic card (recommend RTX Series).
The video renderer let you choose video playback sharpness, up- und downscaling methodes to get the best results for your video.
With an Nvidia RTX graphic card it is possible to use the GPU to upscale small videos (DVD Quality) to FullHD or higher.
The results look sharp und detailed. It is fantastic for old video files. It only works with the latest nvidia drivers from 2024.
One of the best things of this software is the economic CPU und GPU usage. In the past MadVR was the best video renderer, but with a high CPU and GPU usage. Now MPC video renderer does the nearly the same, but is must faster and do not waste so much CPU and GPU power.
So you get the best results with newer and older computers.

I answered a topic where a person couldn't have his videos display HDR bc Dolby Vision...

... i thinked about this renderer, then it had just added exactly THE option that fixed his problem.

Near perfect !

This is much better than MadVR.
MpcVideoRenderer-0.6.1.1931 works best for me. Newer versions produce blackscreen intermittently when going from windowed to full-screen and vice versa.

Frame sync (vsync) is not available with this render in the MPC players. So there is no way to fix the tearing currently.

This render is more configurable than EVR but is much slower. Often on play back the first frame or frames is drop and there is tearing in the video play back. I think these issues are related.

In order to prevent video freezing the default configure has to be changed, however this does not fully prevent video judder in parts of the play back.

Thew overall score is set to TWO due to the issues above. The following needs to be made available Vsync options to fix tearing.

I have tested on two laptops:- on my windows 7 64 bit laptop with Graphic card (over 5 years old) and my windows 10 64 bit laptop with standard intel graphics chip (3 years old).

Review by ABBrittain on Jan 13, 2020 Version: 0.3.8.1060 OS: Windows 7 64-bit Ease of use: 8/10 Functionality: 8/10 Value for money: 2/10 Overall: 2/10

@ABBrittain:
Ease of use: 7/10 -> unzip the folder to desired location and rightclick the Install_MPCVR_64.cmd or Install_MPCVR_32.cmd with admin rights and check D3D11 in options later is too hard?
Functionality: It gives you D3D11 functionality.
Value for money: 2/10 -> How much did you pay? You payed nothing for this free Video Renderer and rate it 2/10? This is not comprehensible.
Overall: 2/10 Not comprehensible at all. Create a thread here for help, if you need assistance, then I can help you ;)
My advice: Turn on VSync in MPC-BE settings which fixes most of the tearing issues of any kind.

Don't downvote excellent programmed software. Sad to read that hole vote ...

Easy to setup (MPC BE 4969)but:-
Its slower than the EVR with video tearing and frame dropping under the default setup. Can see not way of fixing the tearing.

Well, because it can use dirx11, it's a good replacement for the built-in EVR-CP that only uses dirx9. Is the quality really any better, though? Hard to tell really, so whether or not this is necessary is surely subjective.

MPC Video Renderer is really great. It has also D3D11 support. Very stable, how can it not be, it is from the MPC-BE developers :)
