I gave this a try but on the TV channels it can't decode some audio codecs. Mainly HE-aac codecs. I saw it stopped being developed in 2016 so I'd avoid paying for it. It's ok to play a few channels I guess but other software does a better job.

This crap installed something to the stystem once i unpacked portable version, my explorer kept closing itself over and over, couldnt do anything, i had to run windows in safe mode and it still kept crashing explorer.exe, this is dangerous software for someone whos not that good wit cpu as it can totally block you out of your computer and you would have to pay someone to fix that problem. DONT DOWNLOAD! Unless they remove suspicious shit, even when it started to unpack there was too many files, about 15 mb for tv capture ? Yeah right...

I downloaded V1.3.0 from the "direct" link on the web page, but when running it displays as V1.2.0 (even after a complete uninstall of V1.2.0). So I go to the Capture4Me website and try a download there and my Anti-Virus won't allow it, giving me a warning that it contains "Win32:Rootkit-gen [Rtk]" and aborts the download.

This is a great alternative to what I've been using with the HDPVR. However, using the link to the "portable" version and installing it still indicates it is version 1.0.7.

I have had a love/hate relationship with my Hauppauge HD PVR for years due to a combination of bad drivers and the included ArcSoft software for capturing. I just bought a Colossus for my other system and had to deal with that ShowBiz software. The TotalMedia Extreme recorder for the HD PVR is better than the ShowBiz recorder but both aren't totally stable all the time.

Capture4ME is awesome! It's very lightweight and fast for me. I highly recommend it to all Hauppauge HD PVR and Colossus users. You have to have the ArcSoft codecs installed for it to work though. The video preview and capture won't work without them. I tried using the LAV filter for the H.264 decoder and the preview window wouldn't work.

$20 is well worth the price for a license! You can try it out and the recordings are limited to 2 minutes during trial which should be enough to see if it's going to work well for you.

Go get it!

I found this app a couple of weeks ago. I like it alot. I was capturing with an HDPVR, but the included TME software just wasnt working for me. This software is much easier to use and much more reliable. I also like the built-in feature for uploading to youtube.
