Doesn't convert WMA to WAV.
It only adds the right header and changes the extention.
The Content of the file stays WMA.

Seems to work wonders as far as I can tell.
However, it gets a lower overall score for 2 reasons. First, it can freeze while starting up, and taskman is unable to kill the process. Second, when you uninstall, it leaves traces in your registry, so you have to clean them out manually if you want to reinstall it and hope it works again.

This tool is really good for repairing ASF/WMV files. I threw a dozen unplayable ASF and WMV's at it, and it repaired all but one. It has many options for repairing files, recovering lost chunks, or making files seekable.
It is very easy and intuitive to use, but some of the advanced options are pretty obscure to new users like myself.
It can also re-encode ASF's that aren't usable by TMPGEnc, so they can be processed by TMPGEnc.
