Checked media with DVDinfo and said they were GSC0001 media code and were legitimate 4X.
They burn at approximately 4.1 to 4.3X, no coasters so far after 10 burns. The orange die doesnt seem to cever the edge as well as the purple Riteks, but they seem to burn just as well.
I bought 50 with DVD covers and a pack of printable DVD lables all for $84 from meritline.com.

1. Your using firmware 1.06, which has a KNOWN problem for not being able to burn/read cheaper media. Upgrading to 1.07 will fix this (amongst many other) problems.
2. You have a NEC burner, nuff said.

Burnt with an I/O Magic IDVDRW4D burner with both Nero 6 Ultra and Pinnacle instant CD/DVD and neither worked with the Apex AD-1200. I have the Apex with the yellow sticker on the back, and i burnt the disk at 4x. These disk did play on my Apex AD-5131.

Does not work at all. When trying to burn, I get an "Illegal Media" error. Also, Nero 6 does not recognize the media as 4x, it inly gives the option to burn at 2x or 1x (the ND-1300A does not support 1x burning).

I really like this media. Burns at 4x on an A05, and sometimes 2x on my ever so old A03.
The hub is silver (instead of clear plastic), the dye layer is a dark orange color.
Only complaint is extremely slow loading time on my Philips FWD5. Loading time is just fine on all other players though.
