After making a lot of coasters with Sony media decided to get some Maxell after reading some of the comments of other users on this website.
Went to Walmart and got a 3-pack of Maxell DVD-R (TYG01) and burnt a home movie of approximately 90 minutes. I used DVD-Lab to author the DVD and Nero to burn it.
Burned fine with no problems, as usual with the Sony DRX-700UL at 4x speed.
It played with pauses all the time, in different chapters, even at the beginning of the disk.

Have not had a bad burn out of aprx. 40 discs.
Discs play excellent on Sony DVD/SACD player.
Panasonic RP-82 DVD/DVD-A player sometimes has problem at end of disc. Acts like trying to find start menu page to go back to...which usually are not present, (Deleted during Re-author.) This will hang and repeat until "power off" is selected and then eject.
Picture looks 95% as good as original in both players with the Panny a slight edge, as should be.
Not sure why the RP-82 has the problem stopping at the end of disk other than trying to return to start menu?
However, the 5-disk Panasonic RP-72 player does not have the problem at all. Stops everytime and never tries to find and go back to start menu. Maybe something unique to the RP-82.
Overall excellent media. Big problem is some are reporting the new stock of Maxell bundles are NOT made in Japan as mine are and are testing as a lesser grade brand. Time will tell as restocks of bundles (50pks) are returning to stores now.
Not to take a chance I ordered TYG01 bundle direct from RIMA as they name exactly what you are getting unlike most big online stores that just state "Maxell" and do not show where made.

Mixed to poor results, with 50 % verification errors after 10 discs written. Have not tried 2X speed, but will use on my Pioneer.
Discs with defective VOBs have played back on computer with PowerDVD. Not sure if verification is a real problem, but don't want to trust data backup.
