I started using these Princo 4x DVD - R about a month ago. I have burned about 300 of them with only one coaster. I use a Sony DRU 500 and a Lacie external firewire Not sure of the drive. I sell Public Domain Movies and Cartoons and do all my own mastering. I have sold about 200 movies with NO returns for incompatibility. I chose because of High Player compatibility and writer compatibility.

Top of media flat white color with no printing. Media rejected by NEC ND-1300A firmware v1.05. It did not burn. DVD X Copy just reported as complete but there was nothing on the disk. Got flash update to firmware from Herrie.rpc2.org to 1.07 which solved the problem. 100% success after upgrade.

The media i bought was sold under the DVDPro brand - but it was made by princo. It burns well at 4x, and plays in my apex dvd player with no prob. I have burnt close to 75 dvds now, with no coasters. All data I burned have been verified with CDCheck - so I assume theres no errors.

Sometimes Nero gives the error "invalid field parameter" but all the times the issue was resolved by restarting Nero with the disk inside the burner. Did several burns to the full capacity of the disk with no problems.

DVDPro is an excellent media. To clarify: this media will burn fine at 4x (I usually get 3.8x-4.3x) but the read rate will vary depending on your computer's speed. My PC has and AMD 2.4Ghz processor and a it has a read-rate when using DVD Decrypter of 5.6x-7.1x. The read-rate has nothing to do with the media being 1x, 2x or 4x. That's the burn rate. If you want a faster read-rate, upgrade your processor and have a DVD-ROM drive that reads at 16x.

Used DVD Decrypter to get around copyguard, used DVD2One (sometimes Shrink) to convert from DVD-9 to DVD-5, and burned with CopyToDVD (sometimes Nero 6.0) to burn at 4x (usually between 3.8x-4.3x) My Uncle has an NEC ND-1300A and he's 20 for 20!
