You can copy macrovision VHS movies to DVD without making any modifications. Here is what you do. 1.Insert a VHS movie cue the movie up to the point you want to start recording. 2. Stop the VHS movie. Use the copy button on the front panel and the movie will start playing and the the DVD will begin recording. I have use this method to back up many of my old VHS macrovision enabled movie and it has worked on all of them. If you try to record to the DVD while the movie is playing you will get a error message saying the the movie is copy procected. By stopping the movie and using the copy button it does not pick up the macrovision. | |||

This player plays PAL/region 0 out of the box. To enable region-free playback use this variation of the post for the Zenith XBR-411: 1. With no disc loaded press SETUP 2. Navigate to the lock icon and press "0-0-0-0". A window will appear saying Congratulations Player(Loader) Region-free 3. To activate, press ENTER. I've tested region 2 and 4 discs and all play fine but Macrovision still remains. The GO-Video VR-4940 (which I also own) is identical and this instruction also applies. | |||
