Great Info! We got the Venturer STS21AAS-10 also from Tesco, excellent price and good spec, plus Dolby 5.1, 3.1 and Prologic decoders, and 6 speakers! Amazed to find a multi-region hack that not only increases the spec, and allows us to use imported DVD's, and that is so easy to use! Just follow the instructions to the letter! Brilliant! I own the STS22A (DVD-receiver) and I also tried the hack of the STS20 and STS2628(listed above) and this also works fine. Thanks, now it also plays VCD's when you choose 9=region free. 1.- open tray 2.- press 81328 3.- press ENTER for the region ( 9 region free) 4.- press RETURN 5.- close the tray This machine is sold in Europe (Netherlands). | |||

Should it turn it turn the display (when you type 81328) from "region code 2" to "region code 0"/"region code 9" Because mine still displays "region code 2". I haven't got any R1 DVD's yet but they should be flying across the pond (atlantic) as we speak. | |||

confirmed the Venturer hack (81328) with my Venturer SVP 7330 purchased at Wal-Mart. And this unit now also plays VCDs without a problem. Will burn a SVCD and try it out in the machine next. Not bad for a Christmas gift. :) | |||

I now have a portable player for very little money which I have tested and proved to play region 1 DVDs and VCDs.
