1. Power on the DVD player 2. Press the Open/close button on your remote control to open the drive tray; remove any disk and leave the tray open. 3. Press 2,4,0,3,9,6,0 4. Press 9 for multi-region playback. You will see a "9" appear in the upper right hand corner of the TV. DO NOT Press Enter button on your remote control 5. Press the Open/close button on your remote control to close the drive tray, and power off the DVD player before it says "no disc". 6. Power the DVD player back on and it is region free !!! The above hack works. I tested it (on a Canadian model). Works flawlessly. Plays any region. Even converts PAL to NTSC signal. | |||

It worked for me too (unit bought in Canada, manufactured in October 2009 according to the sticker). I was waiting for a confirmation here before trying it as somebody on the forum said he had problems with his unit after trying the hack, but it did work perfectly after all. | |||

I bought this dvd player from Sears Canada in April 2009. I tried the hack about a month ago and it works. I just played my first region 2 dvd yesterday. I have played region 3 and 4 discs as well. |
