Hello, I tried this method after reading up on how to by-pass the region code on other Toshiba models and it worked just fine. The actual Model was listed as a Toshiba SD-281EKF. Procedure: 1) POWER ON YOUR DVD PLAYER 2) OPEN THE DVD PLAYER DISC TRAY 3) THEN ON YOUR REMOTE PRESS the following in order 2, 4, 0, 3, 9, 6 , 0 , 9 4) CLOSE YOUR DVD PLAYER DISC TRAY 5) POWER OFF YOUR DVD PLAYER 6) POWER BACK ON YOUR DVD PLAYER AND ENTER A REGION DISC TO TEST IF YOU'VE SUCCESSFUL UNLOCKED IT TO REGION ALL. Other models listed on the manual were SD-280EKB, SD-278EKF, SD-280EKE, SD-281EKE so this method should work as well. Good luck.

Hello, I have been looking for solutions for my Toshiba DVD Video Player SD281EKF and after 2 hours, I finally found a crack that works! Here it is: 1. Switch the DVD on 2. Type using the remote control the following 98790 3. A message will appear at the top right corner saying that it's been set to 0 (multizone). Hope it helps. Manu

I recently purchased a Toshiba SD-310J (sold only in Japan, perhaps) and found Manu's SD281EKF hack worked a charm. This was much appreciated after trying many of the older Toshiba hacks. I had mistakenly assumed that SD310V and SD310J would have the same firmware and consequently require the same hack. It turns out that--despite their similar model numbers-- the models are different beasts altogether, and were manufactured in different eras. Here is the hack that made my SD310J region free, once again: "1. Switch the DVD on 2. Type using the remote control the following 98790 3. A message will appear at the top right corner saying that it's been set to 0 (multizone). " |
