The European RDR-HX900 is 100% hackable with a One-For-All Remote Control (also on a Palm Pilot etc). This is the fix. 1. select dvd device on remote 2. hold magic button until rabbit comes out 3. enter device code 0533 Now we need to program buttons 1..5 (you may want to use the buttons with roman numbers at the bottom of the remote, and use another button for V, which doesn't exist) with the following codes, read below for instructions: 1 - 189 2 - 255 3 - 095 4 - 221 5 - 079 This is how you program those numbers: 1. Hold magic button until rabbit comes out. 2. Press 994. 3. Press magic (don't hold). 4. Enter 3 digit code from above. 5. Press button (1..5) where to program it. 6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for all keys. That works, but more information on macros is included in the one4all manual for you particular model. Have a go: 1. Ensure NO Disc in Player and Player TURNED ON to DVD 2. Press 1,2,3,4,5 - TIMER OK is displayed 3. Press 1,2,3,4,5 - TIMER OK is displayer 4. Press 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5 TIMER OK is displayed 5. Press 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5 TIMER OK is displayed 6. Power OFF Player, wait a few seconds, 7. Power ON Player, insert Region 1 DVD, and it will work I have used this hack on ALL sony players (circa 2003 onwards) and it works, guaranteed. The hack as described for the Sony DVP-NS405 works for the RDR-HX900. I used the codes for Omniremote on my Palm IIIx and used my Palm to hack the region of my RDR-HX900. | |||

Having tried and failed to apply the hack using a one-for-all remote, I switched to using a PDA running the Pocket PC operating system. Basically the hacks for the Sony DVP-NS405 work fine for this machine as well so I followed the steps outlined by Jackalope (for the Sony DVP-NS405) - they worked perfect for me and were easy. The hack as described by 'Sony Hacker' also works with other types of one4all remote controls. I myself use a one4all primeline 3 (URC-7730). The difference with the Kameleon remote's is that the primeline series need 5 digits to be entered instead of the 3 digits that are mentioned by Sony Hacker. Simply add 2 leading zeroes and all will work well. So, all you have to do is to change the series of numbers mentioned by Sony Hacker into this: 1 - 00189 2 - 00255 3 - 00095 4 - 00221 5 - 00079 Works a treat!. Works great. I use HP ipaq hx2750 running "TV remote 5" from "helpstudio softwarehouse. Running this programm(tv remote 5) you can import a ccf file( http://www.xs4all.nl/~pbonnet/sony.zip ) Then you get a screen with 5 buttons. Press 1-2-3-4-5 and than enter.(enter with normal remote.) Press 1-2-3-4-5 and enter (enter with normal remote )again. Then press 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5 enter (enter with normal remote)Display from player reads"timer ok". Then press again 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5(display reads "timer ok".)Press enter(with normal remote) switch player off,wait a few sec,switch player on a youre done. PS press only numbers not the dashes!!! |
