THis unit can be multi-regioned using the same remote method as the DVP-NS355. The screen will display "Timer OK" There are two firmware versions out there, this definetly works on at least one of them. Some players need the code sent two/three times. | |||

I bought a one for all URC-7730 for £14 from Dixons and it worked a treat on my HX510 - the one for all website says that number buttons are programmed using 5 digits, so just add two leading zeros to the codes listed for the HX710- no problem at all. Now plays region 1 perfectly. | |||

I can confirm that the hack posted for RDR-HX710 by JEdison works perfectly on RDR-HX510, using URC 7544. In the Reprogram process, I had to press 11,22,33,44,55 instead of 1,2,3,4,5 to get Timer OK displayed. I also had to re-start the player with its own remote, but everything works fine and it will now play Region 1 and 2 movies. Just one more tip. For anyone, like myself with a PAL TV, you may have to change Sony's Line 1 to output RGB to get a colour picture with NTSC Region 1 movies. | |||

I can confirm that this philips pronto ccf file works for my HX510 http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/dl.cgi ... rea=pronto remove disc, put machine in standby, then press the five keys one after the other in sequence and leave about a second between keys. system then says timer ok. | |||
