To access the hidden options menu follow these steps: Ensure the players try is closed and has no disc in it From the Remote Control Press 7 Press 4 Press Select or Enter Change the Region Code to 13, this will set you to Region free Macrovision can then be disabled by changing the '1' to a '0' - this can be found on the 2nd page of the hidden menu - other info is also displayed such as firmware etc. | |||

After Febuary this model was changed: (Mfg-March-April, 2002) It has Firmware version W-2345 , MK3.3 To change region free: OPEN tray 7 4 (Enter) change to 13. Macro: Now has PROH - even changing this has has no effect to 0 as it may require upto 4 digit code. Any body know ? - I have an issue eith an old TV set which has no AV inputs. So thru a Std VHS - no Good, Thru SVHS - can watch only - which is ok. But I cannot be bothered to drag the SVHS deck to it all the time - I'll either get the Std VCR modified or by an RF convertor for the TV (Like used to come with cam corders at one stage.) MacroV is crap for people with old TV's Otherwise happy with Picture quality - Better then my old pioneer 626D - which has extras enabled. Only thing is that on particular DVD's the caption appears as default ? Weird and there is no menu to change the default. I have seen this with other lower price players. Ta Martin | |||

Singer SGD-001 April - May Model 2002 To access the hidden options menu follow these steps: Ensure the players try is open ! - Yes Open ! From the Remote Control Press 7 Press 4 Press Select or Enter Proceed as per usual Change the "COUNTRY CODE" (Region code) to 13, this will set you to Region free Don't bother changing the "OP PROH ON" (Macrovision on/off) to 0 (By pressing clear) It doesn't work anymore - unless there is another code - up to 4 digits. Software: W-2345 MK 3.3 System: 4.1 C-cube Ziva processor With the curent processor - excellent sharp picture exp. Not sure why software defaults to subtiles on so many DVD's | |||
