the same region code hack for the Bd-660 model is also present for this one as well and it does work: With the player on, press "set up" on the remote. Then punch in 8520 on the remote and a menu will pop up. They'll be a box at the bottom right for the region coding of dvds and another for blu-rays. With the remote, punch in 0 for dvd. This will make it region free. For blu-rays, punch in 1 for region A, 2 for region B and 4 for region C (Haven't tried these yet). Once you're done, press set up. That simple. As already mentioned, you'll have to change the region coding for blu-rays everytime you change over. | |||

After pressing SETUP followed by 8520, I see a factory menu which shows the current DVD and BD region codes of 1 and A. I can use the arrow keys to reset the password and erase the internal BDLIVE storage. How am I supposed to determine whether I want to change the DVD or BD region? Also, how am I supposed to change the DVD or BD region from a region of my choie other than 1 and A? |
