region free out of the box, compatible with dvd+r and dvd+rw discs. Appears to be macrovision free - well I recorded a dvd onto vhs using scart to scart and it seemed fine! plays vcd, svcd etc and ALSO plays mpeg1 files burnt onto dvd r's without any authoring! | |||
