Somehow I managed to unlock my HT-X40 with this code. After serveral failed tries and downgraded the firmware to 0.98 from the samsung web page. I played a DVD region 4 which could't play before due to a region error message. You may try these other codes: Option 1 1. Disconnect your player from its power source for 30 seconds 2. Power up the DVD 3. Press the "Power On" button on your remote control 4. Press the "Enter" button on your remote control 5. Press the numbers "8", "4", "2", "6", "9" on your remote control 6. Press "Enter" button 7. Power down and power up. Option 2 1. Powerup your DVD unit. 2. Ensure there is no DVD in the tray which should be closed. 3. Press SUBTITLE, REPEAT (or just SUBTITLE or just REPEAT or MENU)and the 'no disc' may disappear in left corner. On some builds you may have to use the menu button. 4. If your player is a Region 1 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 2, 9, 3, 3, 4 and 9 : If your player is a Region 2 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 and 9 : (you may need to use 3, 8, 7, 6, 7) If your player is a Region 3 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 5, 6, 7, 3, 2 and 9 : If your player is a Region 4 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 5, 6, 8, 8, 4 and 9 (for region 4 you may need to use 7,6,8,8,4): If your player is a Region 5 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 5, 3, 8, 1, 4 and 9 : If your player is a Region 6 machine, the sequence of numbers to press is 2, 4, 4, 6, 2 and 9 : 5. The current region code may be seen in the left corner. 6. Press 9 on your remote for region free 7. Press the open/close button on the remote and leave it open for a few seconds. 8. Power down then power up.

I finally got play all regions on my HT40x. My firmware version used to be 1.16,and initially I found some difficult to upgrade (downgrade in fact) to V0.98. I got it formatting my pen drive to FAT and loading only the fw file and playing it in USB mode. After that I did the following: 1. Thanks to yo_benji, rajeshvb and all others for the help. Now my children can have more fun.

These hacks listed are pretty old now (as of May 2017). Not sure if there's any new codes to try but every single option listed above did not work for me. Totally at a loss. |
