1. Press the Menu button on your remote control. 2. Press the 5,7,5,3,8 on the remote control. 3. The currently selected region (2) will be displayed on the top left of the screen. 4. Press the button 1 on your remote control for region 1, the button 2 for region 2, etc.. or just press button 9 to enable multi region playback. 5. Press the Menu button on your remote control 6. Press the Menu button to exit the setup screen. This hack has worked on the Samsung DVD-R130 ( These recorders are avilable form Currys, Comet etc.. in the United Kingdom and are sold as Region 2 only.) | |||

This has been tested on REGION 2 & 4 Machines and it worked... different region use different code below.. 1. Press the Menu button on your remote control. 2. Press the 7, 6, 8, 8, 4 on the remote control. 3. The currently selected region (4) will be displayed on the top left of the screen. 4. Press the button 1 on your remote control for region 1, the button 2 for region 2, etc.. or just press button 9 to enable multi region playback. 5. Press the Menu button on your remote control 6. Press the Menu button to exit the setup screen. -Use differnet code for different region players.. I just follwed this procedure on a region 4 player to change it to region free, and it worked perfectly: 1. Press the Menu button on your remote control. 2. Press 7, 6, 8, 8, 4 on the remote control. I found doing it slowly worked well. 3. The currently selected region (4) will be displayed on the top left of the screen inside a little blue square. You have to be quick to change the number from 4 to 9 for region free (or any other region number) by using the numbers on the remote control before the 4 disappears, otherwise you will need to start the process again 4. Press the Menu button on your remote control 5. Press the Menu button to exit the setup screen. You should now have converted a region 4 machine to region free. I tried a region 2 disc which previously wouldn't play and it worked fine. I also checked to make sure my region 4 discs still played, and they did. This makes the Samsung DVD R130 a great little machine for its price. | |||
