i tried this hack and it doesnt work for ntsc region 1 machines if someone from united states or has a region 1 machine got it to work please post how they did it ive tried 20 times now lol please respond asap thanks all im talking about region hack | |||

Got the same problem as oltron, hack does not work. Bought Region 1 Player last week at BestBuy. Following the procedure, black screen and just the "input select" appears on left side after. Every time I press a number on the remote control it just changes the channel. Could somebody tell me what I am doing wrong??? | |||

I just bought a new DVD-R120, Region 1 (Canada). Unfortunately, neither of the 2 hacks above worked for me either. I them (one at a time) within 30 seconds, which meant that the display on the DVD player was showing "load" while I was pushing "0" and repeat and at least some of the 2", "9", "3", "3", "4" number sequence. Just Oltron and Norbert all I succeeded in doing was change channels. I tried it all again by starting the process after the "load" display on the dvd player went off - but it made no difference. Did anybody with a Region 1 Samsung DVD-R120 succeed in getting the hack to work? | |||

If you have a Samsung DVR-R120 bought in region 1, you must do this to convert it into a multiregion PAL/NTSC dvd player: 1-Make a firmware update of your player with this United Kingdom official samsung file: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/productsupport/ ... player.sec Follow the instructions of the PDF file from the prevously mentioned samsung page, (You have tu burn the ruf and the rec files into the cd). 2-After you have done this you have converted your unit into a european player. 3-After the previous step you will be able to apply the hack posted above,I did it and my player can read all regions and all formats DVD's. I must mention I have an LCD TV that supports PAL/NTSC formats. As always, it's under your own risk. | |||

The problem with the hack y posted above, is that it will convert your player to PAL recorder, and the tuner will search only for PAL channels. | |||
