This is the method I used to set my Samsung P248A player to region free. 1. Cold start the player, by holding down the PLAY and STOP buttons on the player. 2. You should see a set of language options. Release the PLAY and STOP buttons. 3. Select your language. 4. Press REPEAT (not the repeat A-B button). 5. Press 5-6-7-3-2 6. Press 9 for region-free. 7. Press OPEN on the Player to open the disc tray. 8. Press STANDBY (POWER) on the remote control to close the tray. Next time the player is turned on it will set to the region specified. | |||

1) switch on the TV and browse to the channel on which you see content played back by your DVD 2) switch on the player and ensure there isn't a disc in your DVD player 2) You should see the following message on the player's display: "no Disc" 3) press once the button "repeat" on the player's remote control 4) Enter the following numbers in the sequence specified: "53814" 5) You shall see "5" displayed on the TV screen 6) Press once the following button, on your remote control "9" 7) Press once the button "Enter", on your remote control. 8) Switch off the DVD player 9) Your DVD should now be region free. | |||
