	Switch the BD-ES6000 on without DVD, press eject to make sure. Very quickly and without delay between keys press the REPEAT button on the remote followed by, depending on your original region setting, one of the following codes: region 1 – 29334 region 2 – 38767 region 3 – 56732 region 4 – 76884 region 5 – 53814 region 6 – 24462 and you should see your original region number on the top right corner - immediately press 9 (you might have to do this twice), you should see the number 9 on the top right corner. Switch off, and this should make your player region free.

	Out of interest has anybody in Region 2 tried an alternative code for that region. Older DVD only Samsung models seemed to used these codes: RC1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4 RC2: 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 (or 3, 8, 7, 6, 7) RC3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2 RC4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4 RC5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4 RC6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2 No idea why there used to be an alternative for Region 2 nor if it ever worked or if it will work now on the later BD model DVD region locks. If somebody in region 2 has any luck with the alternative there would seem to be a few Region 2 visitors to this site that would like to know.

	Thanks to Outoftheknow. The second code for region 2 works on the ES6000. However it still does not change the BD region. I have a C region BD region machine and cannot play A (America) Blu Ray disks. People need to know that the DVD region change works, but it does not change the Blu Ray region.
