Not able to reproduce the "VCD Enable" Hack

After inserting an audio CD: 1 Index key - Eject Key: Enable VCD 1-Yes / 2-No

Actually this hack did not work at all... Always when I press eject, the disc gets ejected and no menu appears...

What exactly does the dealer lock do?
I have some problems with discoloration on my Saba... Any ideas what might be the problem?
how does it update the software? Should I plug it to the net or does it do it by the waves?

This player is probably the same as the Tevion DVD-2001, where the VCD/SVCD hack has two more steps than the above, which brings the whole process to this:

1. Put a music CD in the tray and close it
2. Press Play
3. Press Stop
4. Press Menu
5. Press 1
6. Press Index
7. Press Eject
8. Press 1 for "Yes" or 2 for "No"
