Region code hack posted by zox, January 04 2006: To unlock the Polaroid PDM-2727, I used almost the same hack than the Polaroid PDV-800 (seems the polaroids have similar cracks): 1. Remove DVD disc from unit. 2. Turn on the DVD player. 3. Using the remote control, press the "setup" scroll down to "Preferences" Note: If there is a disc in the player, you will not see the "Preferences" tab!!!! 4. Enter code number 1379 with the remote, the region changing code menu will appear. Then use the ENTER key of the remote to select another region code. as "0" was not available, I tried "9" and it works fine. 5. press the "enter" to save and exit. Works fine!!!! It seem to read NTSC and PAL films | |||

1. Turn on the unit. 2. Press "Set-Up" button and advance to the far right-hand tab "Preferences". Do not hit Enter. 3. Using the remote control, Enter Code # 1379 then use the Region Code appear. 4. Select the region code using the up/down arrows. Region Code 0 make the player multizone compatible. Once code is chosen, press enter. | |||

this hack also works for the polaroid pdm 0817 portable player with the awesome tv docking station,use preferences and the 1379 hack it works great. | |||

Based on some of the other Polaroid hacks mentioned here, I tried it on my PDU-1045 and it worked. 1. Power on the player. 2. Press 'Setup' on the remote or the player. 3. Go to the 'Preferences' menu. 4. Type in the code '1379' on the remote control. 5. A small window will appear with the region code on it. Set the region code to '0' and press 'enter'. The player will now play all discs, I tried tried a variety of region 1 discs in my machine and they all played fine (player is PAL and NTSC compatible). | |||
