Download CD from: http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3409082 Then, follow these steps: 1) Switch the recorder on. 2) Eject the tray and insert the disc. DON'T CLOSE THE DISC TRAY. 3) Press and hold ( on the recorder ) the STOP RECORDING button ( Indicated by a red square ) then press the OPEN/CLOSE Button , the disc tray will now close and you can release the buttons. 4) Now step away from the unit and allow the software update to take place. The display will show DOWNLOAD-1 followed by DOWNLOAD-2. 5) After a while the disc tray will open automatically. Take out the disc but DON'T CLOSE THE DISC TRAY. 6) DOWNLOAD-3 should be displayed soon after, followed by DOWNLOAD-4 and DOWNLOAD-5 and to DOWNLOAD-4 again. After around 5 minutes the disc tray will close and the recorder will switch off. 6) Switch the recorder back on . The setup navigator will appear and the installation is complete. 7) Switch the recorder back off and this completes the installation , you unit is now multiregion. | |||

The above hack with the PIONEER.DVR-X3XH_NRG cdr image WORKS good, i just downlaoded it with bittorrent and burnt it in nero as the above instrucions says and now my pioneer 630H is multiregion ! thank you very much. thought everybody should know! because destroying a machine to 5000kr, i was scared that the software maybe was crap. IT WORKS! | |||

Multiregion firmware for Pioneer dvr-630 (only for european model: region2, region5). Size 65Mb How to use: Unzip file. Write the .nrg Image to a CD-R using Nero on the lowest speed(uncheck Joliet). Service Disc based upgrades: 1. Switch on the recorder, open the disc tray, and insert the mod disc. DO NOT close the disc tray! 2. Press & hold "STOP RECORDING" & then press "OPEN/CLOSE" - the disc tray will close, release the buttons. 3. After 1 minute the disc tray will open. Take out the disc. DO NOT close the disc tray! 4. Now step away from the unit and allow the software update to take place. The display will show DOWNLOAD-1 followed by DOWNLOAD-2. 5. DOWNLOAD-3 should be displayed soon after, followed by DOWNLOAD-4 and DOWNLOAD-5 and to DOWNLOAD-4 again. After around 5 minutes the disc tray will close and the recorder will switch off. 6.
