The hack posted by Efrain Lopez on December 17, 2003 is inapplicable and hence useless. My remote does not have a "Setup" button. I was able to access some sort of Setup screen using the Menu button, but there is no General tab, nor anything that resembles a subindex where one might be able to change codes. | |||

Hello everyone, this is my first post. Sorry for my poor English. I received information from a former Pioneer official about the region change of this model, which until then was unknown. You need the Pioneer part number GGF1067 or GGF1381 SERVICE remote control (search more information on Google for this). Without a disc in the machine, press the ESC key and then the X3 forward key. (A "Region Selection" menu will open). Choose the region of your country (in Brazil is region 4), the number chosen will be flashing. To confirm press the PLAY button on the remote control and it will be registered in the device memory. To exit this mode, simply press the ESC key or switch off the device. DONE! P.S .: 1 - In this process it is not possible to leave the region free, since there is no option in the menu. But with this remote control, you can change the region as many times as you want. 2 - This hack DOES NOT WORK with his own remote control. 3 - I think it is possible to copy these keys on a programmable remote control, but I cannot guarantee if this will work, so DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. | |||
