Yes, it really works!! I just unlocked my new DVD565A and now it is regfree player. I tested only one american DVD Lords of the Rings and it goes! With NTSC signal and fullscreen! Wow. So Im going to buy some favourite americans DVDs. Thanx! Who still dosnt know: 1. I made that trasmitter with two LEDs and one resistor. 2. Unlock with computer. 3. It really offs and it was multiregion. I think, that was someone from Pioneer research. And he sold that code. What do you think? DaDo | |||

Hi.'Thanks to Kristian. Work great. Used a Palm Zire 21 with Omniremote. Work at once. Can sombody tell me how to adjust the signal output on this player. I guess the standard is auto regarding Pal/NTSC. When I trie to play ntsc it goes black. Its useless to go via vcr. Must be a way too set PAL as standard ?????? | |||

Hi Terje! If you want too change the settings from auto mode too pal, you most first hit your dvd off with the standby button on the dvd it self, after that you most push the button rewind forward end hold it down and than press down the stanby button to start the dvd player while you still are holding down the rewind forward button, then the display will show auto or pal or ntsc, repeat this too you get it right, do not use your remote for this only the buttons on the front off your dvd, or look in your manual page 73. No luck with my 565A-S. Bought in EU, 2 months ago. After first try unit went off, but there were no changes. Now it won't even go off again. And OmniRemote 2.10 keeps changing imported code due to the different "OR's data rate". Exported code is completely messed up. Any thoughts? And where to get that ASCII codes??? (Pioneer directly?) To sdspecy and all others with a Pioneer DVD player/recorder or home cinema. i Just wanna inform you regarding firmware modification on Pioneer's dvd players/recorders. When applying firmware to make the unit region free you actually perform a downgrade of the firmware. This firmware is the initially firmware programmed at the factory line, before the the specific region software is installed when is it determined where in the world the unit will be shipped to. And one ohter thing if you have problems after "downgrade" it can be updated if you send it to Pioneer's service department, however it will be treated as an out of warranty case and you have to pay for the "upgrade". | |||

Sorry about my previous post, I was wrong. Like E. Fritz said above, looks like euro versions are codefree. I sent my 565a to service and they said it's already opend for all regions (silly me). When I ask them about failure I have done, they told me everything is OK ??? (couldn't belive it, but it was true). Looks like I did nothing to the unit (still strange). Now it works flawlessly. Later it proved that there were some DVDs, which were poorly burned (directly with Nero); all ohers were readable. regards, david | |||
