Confirmed! I also have one and applied the DV-454 hack and my DV-353 is now region free. It also works perfectly with RCE Region 1 discs. I tested 2 RCE discs (The Patriot and Something About Mary) on both region hacked drives (DVD-353 and DV-656) and they work perfectly :) | |||

I also got the Pioneer DV-454 hack to work for this player. I also had some difficulty initially but here's what I used to make the process work: - Make that you press 'Setup' on the remote, then select Initial Settings > Options, then press 'Display' before pressing '0' on your PDA (see post by 'Hermann' for DV-350) - The PDA's IR is not very sensitive so try adjusting the distance between it and the player - I used OR 2.0.7 and also got improperly imported codes, but these didn't matter in the end My player's firmware is 1.308adv. | |||

HI Sorry my poor english but i tell you this whith the remote controll of the pioneer DV 525 you can hack the region code of all the DVD players of pioneer in the same way than the DV 525 setup select basic then up to expert BUT dont select now press display condition memory and the number of region you want.
