	The hack for DV-454 definately works, I am so happy with this player now. It works with no side effect as well, so don't worry about having problems afterwards. Thanks dvdhelp and everyone else. Larry

	THIS HACK IS IF REGION 1 DVDs DO NOT PLAY IN COLOUR? Turn power off. Hold down SHIFT & press SYSTEM SETUP. Different menus will now appear on the display on the player . Use the Drection bottoms to change form Auto or NTSC to PAL and press enter. This info can also be found on the operating instructions.

	Unfortunately region 1 dvd's & VCD's still only play in black & white :( Even after i've tried setting it to PAL. Anybody got any bright ideas? Thanks

	Brenda Check out the DV-454 hacks, this one also works for the DCS-303 i tried it and it really works. And no problems afterward

	Well i tried what Andy said, but still my vcd that are NTCS still only play black and white for me. Anyone know any way how to make it region free with just the remote? i have no Palm or other pda.
