	This unit rocks by the way!! I tried this hack last night and it works well. Using a "One-4-all" universal remote. 1. Use the setup code 0539. 2. Press MAGIC and enter code 085. 3. The display should now read "-----------". 4. Using the DVD remote enter the code 222 222 005 255 the last digit will not appear on the display. 5. Press PLAY, the display will read NO DISK. 6. Switch off and wait for a few seconds and switch on again. The Philips unit is now Multi regional. I understand that this will work on all Philips Models.

	Check that "Play 159 Play" resets the counter to 25 in the top left corner of your screen then the screen goes dark blue for a second and back to normal. For region 1 press "Play 159 111 002 08 Play" For region 2 press "Play 159 221 002 08 Play" Each time a number appears in top left corner of screen which shows how many times it has been changed. After each change the screen goes dark blue for a second then back to normal. It appears this hack will work on the following models by changing the 002 for 001=LX3000/LX3500 002=MX3600/MX3800 003=LX7000

	With the help of the hack posted bij John Hope I've figured out the following fact: Everything is the same as written in the hack that John posted (press play 159 play). For region 3 press "play 159 331 002 08 play" This I have tested and it works well. The following regions I didn't try yet, but I think they work too. For region 4 press "play 159 441 002 08 play" For region 5 press "play 159 551 002 08 play" For region 6 press "play 159 661 002 08 play" Enjoy it!

	I´m in Brazil and I bought a MX3600d my last trip in the USA. I used code Play 15943100208 Play and worked very well. The region 4 is open ! The code works well to MX3600d. Thanks.

	The hack posted by Craig Miller really works! I have a region 2 Philips MX3800D and I've just hacked it using the following method: 1. Start up the player (in disc mode) with no disc in the tray. 2. Press Play on the player. 3. Press 159 023 793 90 on the remote. 4. Press Play on the remote. 5. When the image on the TV returns, power down the player. 6. Wait 10 seconds. 7. Start up the player again and enjoy your region free DVD player! I've accumulated these steps from a few different sites on the internet, so I'm not sure if every step is absolutely necessary but this is what worked for me. The strange thing is that my player didn't display dashes ('-----------') after I pressed 'Play 159', like most other Philips players do (according to a lot of websites). I ignored this and entered the code anyway, and it worked! I've successfully played region 1 and region 2 dvd's on the player after the hack was entered.

	Just to confirm that if you want a REGION FREE dvd MX3800d player you should: 1)Press PLAY ON THE REMOTE 2)Wait until the little hand goes away 3)Press the numbers 159 023 793 90 on your remote each time waiting for the hand to go away before you enter the next number. 4) Pres play on the remote The screen will turn blue and VOILA!!!! YOu can play all region discs on your player. Like many others I never could get the ---------- in my display. Also, I had to press PLAY on the remote and NOT on the player. As long as the little hand pops up, you are on the right track. Thanks to everyone in this forum....Couldnt have done it without you!

	This is just to confirm that the hack posted by MAds works indeed!!! I've done exactly what he wrote, having absolutely eqiual effects on the screen! As a result I'm now enjoying my multyzone MX3800D player! Already tested DVD of the following regions: 1, 2, 3 and 5! Each of them goes perfect! Thanks indeed guys! :o)

	Also to confirm I too have the Philips 3800D. I was quite happy with the Region switching hack I was using. But I am thrilled with the Multi region hack that works on my unit. Thanks a lot guys... A problem shared is a problem halved!!!

	The post from MAds really works. I did it on my MX3800D and I was very happy to see that it worked perfectly. Then I watched Along Came a Spider from region 1 on my ex Region 2 DVD player :-))
