VCD, Region-Select and Macrovision hacks for the Philips MX1060D... VCD playback is not available out-of-box. But by following the below instructions, you can enable it. For VCD Playback Insert an Audio CD Press Stop Press Sytem Menu Press 1 Press RDS Search Press Open A Menu will now appear to enable Playback. Also screen can adjusted for VCDs in System / TV Aspect Menu. To Enable Region select: Open Drive Press System Press 1 6 7 (in sequence) and you should now asked to select a region. Unlike many Philips hacks - THIS DOES NOT LOCK UP AFTER 25 USES. There is also a MACROVISION hack - I haven't tested this, so be cautious: Insert DVD Press Stop Press RDS Search Press System Menu Press 5 9 7 Exit (x2). ** I belive this only disables macrovision on the current disc - process most be repeated every time on each new disc *** | |||

just an update for the DFR 1600 combo (dvd player mx 1060D) when you try the vcd hack you have to do 1 thing more when you press the system menu button, press the right button to go to TV aspects and from there press 1 press rds search press open | |||
