Same as the model HTS7520: Region code hack posted by bubbagump, June 24 2010: OK, so I finally got a hold of the service manual (www.servicemanuals.net). 1) Turn on player with no disk inserted 2) Press <Open/Close> on the remote control 3) Press "2" "5" "9" on the remote control The VFD will desiplay "TRADE ON" or "TRADE OFF" "TRADE ON" allowed me to watch Region 1 and Region 2 DVDs. The BlueRay disks are still just Region B. | |||

For the Model HTS7540/12: Using the latest firmware that I have updated to the said player, I applied the mentioned hack. Worked fine because I can play other region coded DVD. Yes, Bluray still Region B. But what was strange about the hack was that it automatically enable the "Repeat Title/Track/Chapter" of the disc. Another thing was that, the "Open/Close" button in the player does not respond. Seems to be a minor glitch but I was annoyed when the warning sign kept repeatedly playing or my CD multiple tracks played again and again a single track. :) I really hope in time the proper hack code for this model will surface soon. But thanks to the one who shared the hack, at least, I got to see my region-locked disc. :) | |||

Exactly same problem: automatically enabled Repeat Title/Track/Chapter" of the disc and "Open/Close" button in the player does not respond. But nevermind, those problems cannot disturb my joy of viewing region 1 DVDs :) | |||
