Open the Philips HOME SCreen,... Type on your remote: 13893108520 This will display all of the current settings for your player. Region_Code: DVD(2) BD(B) This will not change any settings, but will report your current settings. So it’s a reporting function only. To change your DVD region settings try the following: Turn on player with no disk inserted Press “Open/Close” on the remote control Press 259 on the remote control After enter the code 13893108520 again on the HOME Screen and the player will show region "0" Now the buttons on the front of the player do not work anymore.... You will need to go to SETUP and click on RESET FACTORY SETTINGS.... Wait until the player restarts and now you can play all DVD regions..... ;-)

do not resetting the player because it makes region free for bluray is deleted and the 9 9 9 9 0 code can not working anymore (i Just Did it). to make dvd player region free with remote control: 1. open tray (press and hold the stop button over 3 second) 2. press 259 3. on player screen typed "trade on" 4. put any region DVD on the tray and it can be played any DVD (region free), but this condition made the player panel does not working. 5. to make the panel is working do not resetting the player, just press 259 once again (on player screen typed "trade off" 6. status of "trade on/off" can be checked by pressing 8520 if DVD(0) is shown, it means you can play any DVD. Once again Do Not Resetting the player, just pressed 259 (when tray is open) anytime you like (to "Trade on/off")

Further to the above If you have the HTS5560/12 which is supplied in Australia rather than the HTS5560/98 supplied is in Europe you may find that once in "trade mode" the screen will flash up "rpt tit" upon playing a disk and it will then endlessly loop the opening sequence of the disk. the only way i have worked out to bypass this is to select a different source i.e "radio" or "audio" and reselect "disk" as the source. the disc will now play as normal no matter what the region Cheers |
