I can confirm that the above hack(s) do not work on my DVP5100 :o( I do not know the submodel / firmware although it is supposed to be a 5100 "k". My player comes straight out of the shop (Argentina) and has not been tampered with. As soon as I find a hack that works on mine I'll post it. | |||

It's me again: the hack DOES work, but somehow the first 3 or 5 times I tried I didn't succeed, so I got confused... So perhaps a small rewrite of the instructions may help others: 1 - Make sure there is no disk in the player 2 - Press EJECT on the remote or on the player. The eject icon has to be visible on screen for the hack to work!!! NB: (DVP 5100 has now drawer) is a typo the DVP 5100 DOES NOT have a drawer!!!!!! 3 - Press MENU (System) on the remote 4 - Press the RIGHT button on the remote until you get to the PREFERENCES screen 5 - Now enter the sequence 135566 with the remote control 6 - Now "Region Code" should appear (I was expecting a new menu item in the list, but a whole new screen appears!) 7 - Select the 0 (multiregion) (again I was expecting something else: to be able to choose between regions, but 0 was my only option!!!) 8 - Press MENU (System) on the remote to exit the setup screen 9 - Press the power button on the remote to set the player on standby, this saves the new setting. And that's it! Enjoy! | |||
