Basically the hack works the same as the PET7402/PET721 and the PD7012 1. Power ON the DVD player with no disc inside 2. Goto SETUP and go to Preferences 3. With preferences highlighted, Press NEXT CHAPTER>|, PREVIOUS CHAPTER |<, NEXT CHAPTER>|, PREVIOUS CHAPTER |< 4. The OSD will show the current Region Code 5. Press the Navigation Up or Navigation Down buttons to select your desired region, or 0 for region free 6. Press OK to confirm your region selection I was getting really worried about this player and it's remote without numberkeys. I tested it with region 1,2 and 3 discs Have fun | |||

Many, many thanks to AAL. I'm in Russia and bought this model but it had two additional ID numbers so I was little anxious that it might not work. Philips DVP3880/51 There was no need to worry; it worked perfectly - AAL's steps repeated here. 1. Power ON the DVD player with no disc inside 2. Goto SETUP and go to Preferences 3. I have ust purchased a Philips DVP 3880/05. There is no region hack for this model. I cannot understand why the two users say there is. Ive spent hours searching and finally found that there is no hack available. | |||

Oooops, Sorry guys. I tried this hack one more time and it worked. I forwarded and reversed the chapter buttons in quick succession in anger and it worked. There is no on screen display when you do this. THis is why I thought it wasnt working. Thanks very much. | |||
