The mentioned hack works great, but one little added info might be needed, there can't be any dvd in the player or you can't get to the preferences tab. | |||

I purchased this model from a well-known internet mailorder firm advertised as multi-region. I have mainly European region 2s but some American region 1 imports. Trying it out, I found it would play some but not all of the region 1 discs, rejecting them as "Wrong region". Following the instructions given in other hacks here(Empty tray, Setup, Preferences, Code 138931, select Region 0)cured this problem completely. Of course, I'm now wondering whether there was any point in ordering a multi-region version at all, as I could presumably have done this to any version. Still, it was cheap enough. | |||

Thanks guys. It really worked and now I can play all of my DVDs. One thing, just make sure that there is no DVD in the DVD player otherwise you won't be able to access the Preferences tab. Cheers | |||
