Tested on Region A/1 BluRay/DVD player purchased from Target NJ (Dec.2014). Setting Region to 0 does not affect Vlu Ray region. Now plays all region DVDs and perform Pal to NTSC conversion on the fly. To set the DVD region: Power on with no disc in tray Press HOME on the remote Enter 1389310 The last digit 0 is the region number you want to set it to. There will be no screen notification that the keys were entered correctly. To check the region: Power on with no disc inside Press HOME on the remote Enter 8520 The BluRay & DVD region will be shown along with a lot of other device info. Founf this hack for other Philips Blu Ray. | |||

Unit purchased used on eBay. Manufactured Aug 2014. Find out what you got: 1. Power on with no disc in the machine 2. Press 'HOME' key on remote control 3. Enter 8520 Mine was: region code = BD(A) DVD(1) Now change it to region free 0. 1. Power on with no disc in the machine 2. Press 'HOME' key on remote control 3. Press number keys 1389310 Nothing appears to happen. To see if u done it correct, do first 3 steps again. Mine now is: region code = BD(A) DVD(0) Unit will now play any region DVD !!
