	Applicable Models: DVD-S38 / DVD-S48 / DVD-S58 / DVD-S68 / DVD-S500 / DVD-S700 Multizoning Process: 1. Power on the unit and open the disc tray 2. Using the remote that came with the player, press the following buttons in sequence 3. AUDIO 1 9 8 2 4. SUBTITLE 5. Using the other Panasonic Remote (not the one that came with the player), press the PAUSE button 6. On the remote that came with the DVD player, press the 0 (zero) button 7. If you have followed the above process correctly, the word ON should be shown on the front panel display of the player

	In the user region code comments of September 10, 2017 hack by London, it states in No.5: - "5. Using the other Panasonic Remote (not the one that came with the player), press the PAUSE button" Can someone clear up what exactly is 'not the one that came with the remote'

	1. Power on the unit and open the disc tray 2. Using the remote that came with the player, press the following buttons in sequence 3. AUDIO 1 9 8 2 4. SUBTITLE 5. Using a different Panasonic Remote Control (not the one that came with the player), press the PAUSE button This can be any other Panasonic Remote - I used the one that came with my TV 6. On the remote that came with the DVD player, press the 0 (zero) button NOTE: Every time you press any of these buttons, you'll see a message 'this operation is currently unavailable' - Don't let that fool you, KEEP GOING! NOTE: Not all DVD players have a display, and not all of them will show ON once you've followed the process. 7. Switch the player off. 8. Switch the player on again. Happy days are there! Good luck!

	Regarding "The suggested hack does not work on a Panasonic DVD-S500EG'. I have that exact model, and followed the process carefully. It did not work right away, but worked on the fourth try. By that time I was getting quicker. So possibly time taken is a factor. Also, my player does not have a display, so 'ON' never showed.

	Hi im trying to make the S500 region free, i have bought a genuine Panasonic TV Remote from eBay. I have tried many times without success. Does the remote i hit pause on have to be linked to a TV because i only have the remote nothing else, the TV i have is a JVC can i hit the pause button on that remote? or does it have to be Panasonic? Any help would be much appreciated.

	This hack works with 1 panasonic remote if it has 2 separate PAUSE and PLAY buttons. NOT with the "dvd player" remote that comes with the S500EG-K player and has a combined Play/Pause button, >/II. A panasonic N2QAHB000012 remote works, and any panasonic bluray remote (with Audio and Subtitle keys) should work too. The steps are the same as before. Ignore any "operation not available" messages on the tv screen when pressing the buttons Open tray, Audio, 1982, Subtitle, Pause (NOT Play/Pause),0 Tested on a region 2 DVD-s500eg-k player. Now it plays dvds from anywhere (Ntsc and Pal).
