Start with no media in the player. Go to the menu. On the remote press 1, 6, then 7. A menu will pop up with the text "Key 1 - 6 for region 1 - 6:". Enter number for region or 0 for all regions. | |||

Enable Sound Submenus Go to the main function setup menu. On the remote pressing 1, 7, then 8 will bring up a menu which says: Player Output Config 1) 1.5ch / 2) 2ch Selecting 1 will unlock submenus in the audio config which I believe will allow one to enable and configure SRS Labs' TruSurround. Unfortunately, except for a few numbers, the unlocked submenus have scrambled characters which are unreadable. --- Dealer Lock Go to the main function setup menu. On the remote pressing 7, 4, then 1 will bring up a menu which displays: Dealer Lock 1 / unlock, 2 / lock Pressing 1 will lock the DVD tray closed. Pressing 2 will again allow the DVD tray to be ejected. --- Enable VCD Playback Make sure there is an audio CD in the player. Go to the main function setup menu. On the remote pressing 1, 5, then 9 will bring up a menu which displays: Enable VCD? 1) yes / 2) no Pressing 1 will allow it to play VCDs. I have tested this with a VCD, it works. --- Version Info and Firmware Update Go to the main function setup menu. On the remote pressing 7, 6, then 0 will bring up a menu displaying the version info of the firmware and ask if you wish to update. An alternate sequence of keys which bring up this feature is 7, 6, then [camera icon] key. | |||

Dvd player and remote test *Personal note! (It may be a lead to other hacks) Make sure dvd player is off. Press on the front panel of dvd player: play and stop at same time while pressing power on on front panel of player to get to screen that should be a test screen on dvd player. Can be used to test front panel buttons. Also if you press the eject button for a little bit it shall say 00. press any button to test remote buttons. If holding the eject button for a while longer the display will flash 3 or 4 times then cycle through every led seperatly. | |||

Enabling vcd playing on oritron dvd760 is as easy as taking a candy from a baby's mouth. -place music CD in dvd, let play about 20 seconds,then with your remote, press stop, press menu, press 1, press button located right next to pause button(on the right, I believe it is the lock button: it looks amazingly like a car with big roof),press eject a vcd enable menu will pop up, press 1, then exit menu. Tips: if the vcd movies plays in black and white..Relax, no sweat. Press stop go back to menu,choose "tv aspect", you will find vcd menu right after dvd menu, then match that vcd menu with NTSC or Pal, depending on your respective region.
