To hack this machine you use the same hack as the Oriton 600 Hack. MAke sure there are no discs in the tray. 1. Press Menu on the remote 2. Press 1, 6, 7 one after each other. 3. A box will appear requesting a new region. 4. Enter 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2 or MUTE button for multi-region playback. Possible Macrovision hack but not sure if works yet. 1. Press Menu Button on the remote. 2. Press 2, 4 and 6 one after each other. 3. Press 1. | |||

I have figured out a secret combination of keys on the front panel of the unit: switch on the DVD player while pressing the PLAY key (on the front panel). You will see that the unit is starting a sort of test with all kinds of messages being shown up on the display.I guess this also works for Oritron DVD 200, 600 and other similar DVD player based on the STI558 chip (or so). You could to the same thing while pressing both play and stop buttons and check what is happening. MAYBE SOMEBODY OUT THERE CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO DISABLE ONCE END FOREVER THAT ANNOYING MACROVISION | |||

for my Oritron dvd1030 purchased from Dick Smith Electronics Austalia to initiate region free No Disc Press Menu , 1 , 6 , 7 , then select 0 for all regions for VCD Enable insert music cd press stop and wait untill the menu screen appears then press 1 , 5 , 9 . Select 1 to enable VCD . then eject audio CD. Hope this helps some Aussies..... | |||

Select 5.1 or 2Ch Audio. Found another one by accident for the Oritron 1030 bought from DSE in Oz. With no CD in the tray press 1, 7, 8 to get a menu allowing you to select between 5.1 or 2 channel audio output. | |||

This hack should also work on the Matsui DVD-125, Oritron DVD-200, Oritron DVD-1030 and the Tevion DVD-200 To switch this player into Multi-region: Power on the DVD player and ensure there is no disc in the drive Press Menu Then press 1, 6, 7 and press Mute for ALL Regions Press Exit To disable Macrovision: Insert a DVD Press Stop Press Bookmark Press Menu Press 5, 9, 7 then Exit If you want to play VCDs you can do so using the below method: Insert a music CD Press Stop, Menu, 1, Bookmark, Open This will give you the option to enable or disable VCD playback | |||
