While not playing a disc hit the setup button on remote. press 9-0-2-1-0, then secret menu will pop up. Just hit the # 0 on remote,( 0 is for all regions ). Then just hit setup to exit. Guaranteed to work...... | |||

The correct code seems to be 9210 not 90210 as one of the hacks states. This was tried after installing the 1111b 2005 firmware upgrade (which reset the region coding to US region 1) and was applied with the new black controller (free + postage to old style silver controller users from the Oppo web site). | |||

Just to confirm the region code change: 1. With the remote control, and no disk inside the player. 2. Press "Setup" 3. press "9"-"2"-"1"-"0" (not 90210) This will bring up a secret menu 4. Press "0" or whatever region number you want. 5. Press "Setup" once again It's that easy, this is one great DVD player! | |||

The Code is 9210 When you upgrade the firmware of your 971 it is returned to its original region, 1 for north america you must use the procedures above to return it to region 0 | |||
