This worked for me, Gets you to the menu that will let you disable both Macrovision, and Region. Steps to follow to get to the factory settings to turn region to "All" and Macrovision to "OFF" 1. turn the power ON 2. push OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control 3. Press SETUP 4. Press 8888 5. The Macrovision doesn't work that well. I followed the instructions to select the 'OFF' on the Macrovision under the hack, but I tried it out with this DVD player hooked up to a VCR (I have to use this setup because my television is 20 years old and doesn't have multiple RCA jack input) and the Macrovision is still in place. (I played the movie 'Airplane!')... I guess it works for some movies but not all depending on the Macrovision they use to create the DVD... | |||

The region code hack really works but it's very finicky about how you do it: Remove any DVDs from your player and turn it OFF. Turn the player ON again. Using the remote control, press the Setup button Press 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 Press NEXT A new menu called "Version" will appear. Scroll to this menu and press ENTER. You can now set the region to 0. | |||
